Fire outbreak at Accra Tourist Information Centre

A fire has broken out at the Accra Tourist Information Centre, located opposite Afrikiko in the heart of the capital.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation, as personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) work to control the situation.

According to reports, the fire started in the early hours of Monday, August 4, around 1:00 a.m.

Eyewitnesses suggest that the flames may have originated from the kitchen area of Rockz Waakye, a popular food vendor situated on the premises.

However, the exact cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

Fortunately, no injuries or casualties have been reported so far.

In a related incident, over 50 wooden structures and metal containers were destroyed in a separate fire at Madina Ritz Junction on Sunday, displacing numerous residents.

This fire reportedly started at a washing bay within the slum area. Firefighters from the Madina Fire Station responded quickly, working to prevent the fire from spreading further.
