Two arrested for threatening to kill President, First Lady

The Ghana Police Service has initiated an investigation into a TikTok video that has gone viral, featuring an individual making threats against President John Dramani Mahama and the First Lady.
In a statement, the police acknowledged that the video, which has been widely shared on social media, includes comments perceived as threats to their lives.
Currently, two people, identified as Prince Ofori and Yayra Abiwu, have been arrested and are in police custody, aiding in the ongoing investigation.
Authorities are actively working to identify and apprehend additional individuals believed to be involved in the recording and dissemination of the video.
“So far, two people, Prince Ofori and Yayra Abiwu, are in police custody assisting the ongoing investigation, while efforts are underway to get other persons believed to be connected to the video to assist the investigation”.
The police also reaffirmed their dedication to safeguarding the President, the First Lady, and all citizens, urging the public to avoid making or sharing remarks that could incite violence or disrupt public order.
