Netizens lambast EOCO Boss Raymond Archer for inappropriate dressing to Nana Konadu’s funeral

A section of social media users has criticised the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Raymond Archer, over what they describe as “inappropriate” dressing to the state funeral of former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.

A pic circulating online captured him dressed in an all-black outfit—black trousers, a black shirt layered with a black jacket, and dark sunglasses—walking into the funeral grounds. The stylish, semi-casual appearance immediately sparked debate among netizens who argued that the attire did not reflect the solemnity of the occasion.
Critics said the look appeared “too casual,” “too flashy,” and “more suited for an entertainment event than a funeral honoring a stateswoman.” Others claimed the outfit projected a lack of seriousness expected from a high-profile public official attending a formal state ceremony.
One X user took a sympathetic stance, posting: “He is a boy that God has lifted and blessed through the corridors of power so allow him to get fresh air.”
Another user, responding to the backlash, argued that his presence at the event was official, not informal. “He wasn’t at the funeral as a street boy, he was there as a member of the Government,” the user wrote, pushing back against suggestions that the outfit was inappropriate for the solemn state ceremony.
But the remarks were far from unanimous. A different user mocked the outfit by comparing it to action-movie aesthetics. “We are even lucky he didn’t carry the casket on his shoulder like ein role model. Just look at his jacket and compare to this one. ArcherZENEGGER,” the post read, accompanied by an edited action-film image to drive home the sarcasm.
It would be recalled that Raymond Archer has come under criticism for shoddy investigations from various quarters, and has also been accused by netizens for employing the services of Blakk Rasta to malign people he targets for investigation, an allegation Blakk Rasta himself affirms to be true in his video blogs
